Notification Preferences

You can fully customize how and when CallForPaper contacts you. We support multiple channels including Email, In-App alerts, and Browser Push notifications.

Accessing Settings

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click your profile avatar in the top right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Navigate to the Notifications tab.

Global Channels

You can toggle entire communication channels on or off.
  • Email: Delivered to your registered email address.
  • In-app: Bell icon notifications inside the dashboard.
  • Browser: Native web push notifications (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
Browser Notifications: You must allow permissions in your browser for this to work. If you previously denied permission, you may need to reset it in your browser settings.

Detailed Preferences

You can fine-tune which types of notifications you receive for each channel.

Notification Types

  • System: Critical security alerts (e.g., Password Reset, Login from new device).
    • These cannot be disabled for security reasons.
  • Marketing: specialized offers, newsletter updates, and feature announcements.
  • Event: Updates related to events you are organizing or attending (e.g., Submission received, Review assigned).

FAQ

Q: I turned off emails but still received a password reset link? A: System-critical emails (like password resets and invoice receipts) cannot be disabled. They bypass your preferences to ensure you never lose access to your account. Q: Why are the checkboxes grayed out? A: If a Global Channel is turned off, its detailed settings are disabled. Turn on the Global Channel first to edit them.
